Dentures in Laguna Hills
Natural-looking and functional dentures that last
At Saddleback Dentistry, we offer a wide variety of denture options. Our doctors use their knowledge and experience to create natural-looking, durable and functional dentures. They also provide the latest development in denture technology—implant-supported dentures. Dentures supported by dental implants stay stable in your mouth and provide greatly increased chewing power.
Virtually unbreakable, natural-looking ThermoDent Dentures
At Saddleback we offer ThermoDent dentures, which are made of an advanced material called polyamide microcrystalline, known for its strength and resistance to fracture. ThermoDent dentures come in a wide range of shades to give the most natural look possible. We offer them because we believe they are the highest quality traditional dentures on the market.
All-on-4® New Teeth in One Day
For an implant-supported denture solution that provides the ultimate in strength and stability, Dr. Garcia and Dr. Conkle can place as few as four implants to support a full set of new teeth that are firmly fixed in and provide 90-95 percent of natural chewing power. The advanced technology used in this procedure (known as “All-on-4”) allows the doctors to perform all needed extractions, place all implants and provide functional new replacement teeth in one day for most patients.
The All-on-4 procedure eliminates the need for bone grafting. This is usually even true for patients who have experienced severe bone loss and would not have been candidates for implants in the past.
Stabilizing existing dentures using long-lasting implants
No matter how well your denture originally fit, over time the underlying bone will be worn away by the denture and the lack of high-pressure chewing. The denture will have to be constantly adjusted until eventually there is no bony ridge left to hold it in place.
Dental implants, which are titanium posts that are fixed into the jawbone, are an ideal solution for securing dentures in place, restoring chewing power, and protecting you from bone loss.
If you already have dentures, our doctors can add support by retrofitting them with dental implants, a procedure known as denture stabilization.
Why use Denture Stabilization
There can be many setbacks with using removable dentures. These can include difficulty chewing, having to avoid certain foods, discomfort or pain, speech troubles, movement of the dentures, and bone deterioration in the jaws. In fact, traditional dentures only allow for 10% of your total chewing power.
Stabilizing dentures using implants can restore function to your dentures, so you can chew more easily and eat the foods you want. Implants will also stimulate your jawbone with pressure from chewing, which will help prevent bone loss. The more implants that are used, the greater the stability and function of your dentures, and the more lifelike they will appear.
How Denture Stabilization works
Dr. Conkle or Dr. Garcia will fit your denture with special attachments that snap securely onto the dental implants. Once the implants are inserted, you can immediately snap your denture onto your implants comfortably with increased stability and chewing power.
Types of dentures we offer
We offer the following options for dentures:
Full dentures fit over the gums and are held in place using an adhesive. They require that all teeth be removed. The doctors use ThermoDent dentures because they are made from an advanced material known for its strength and resistance to breaking.
Partial dentures are typically held in place by metal clasps that attach to existing teeth.
No-metal dentures are a more natural-looking alternative to dentures with metal clasps.
Immediate dentures are placed immediately after teeth have been extracted or implants have been placed. It provides some function and aesthetics until your final dentures are ready to be placed.
Our doctors can provide implant-supported fixed-in new teeth with our All-on-4 New Teeth in One Day procedure. All-on-4 is a special implant procedure that uses four or more specially designed implants that can take maximum advantage of existing bone, and eliminate the need for bone grafting for most patients. It is possible to complete this implant procedure and place temporary acrylic teeth all in one day.
Implant-supported dentures are secured to titanium implants that are surgically fixed inside the jawbone. The doctors consider implant-supported dentures to be the best option for dentures.
The doctor will add function and stability to your dentures by stabilizing them with dental implants.
Relines and Repairs
The doctors can make repairs or adjustments to your dentures so that they fit better.
