Implant-Supported Dentures

implant supported dentures

Our doctors provide stable implant-supported replacement teeth that are natural-looking and provide excellent chewing power.

Beautiful and Stable Full-Arch Replacement Teeth

teethglassDentures have been the traditional method of replacing an arch of missing teeth, and until recently were the only option available. Dentures, however, have many disadvantages, such as slipping, making noises when you eat or speak, causing irritation leading to painful sores and providing minimal chewing power.

Wearing traditional dentures also causes bone loss in the jaw. This results in the denture repeatedly becoming loose and needing frequent relines or refits. This can eventually lead to a point where no denture can be made to fit well anymore.

Modern technology makes it possible to eradicate these problems by supporting dentures with dental implants. Implants retain the dentures stably in place and give the dentures a major boost in chewing power. Depending on your needs and circumstances, the dentures can be permanently fixed onto implants or made in such a way that the patient can snap them on and off of implants as they please.

Our Stable and Lifelike Implant-Supported Dentures

Below are our implant-supported denture options:

Permanently fixed-in teeth with All-on-4® New Teeth in One Day

MG_062-150x150Our doctors can place as few as four implants to support a full set of replacement teeth that are firmly and permanently fixed in the mouth. A set of cutting-edge techniques, together known as the “All-on-4” procedure, make it possible for most patients to receive fixed-in teeth without the need for bone grafting—even patients with severe bone loss who would not have been eligible for implants in the past.

The new teeth will provide 90-95 percent of the chewing power of natural teeth and will function and look like real teeth. Because of the advanced techniques used in the procedure, the doctor can perform any needed extractions, place all necessary implants and have you walk of our office with new replacement teeth all on one day!

Implant-supported removable snap-on dentures

implants2As a more economical alternative to fixed-in new teeth, our doctors can place a series of implants to support a removable denture. Using special attachments, the denture will snap onto the implants and be retained firmly in place, though you will still be able to remove it at any time.

You will need no messy adhesives to hold the denture in place and your new teeth will provide about 40-60 percent of full chewing power. Your denture will not slip, relieving you of the sores and discomfort that result from a traditional denture rubbing against your dental arch.

This is a significant improvement over traditional dentures and a good option for many patients, though implant-supported fixed-in new teeth provide the strongest chewing power and achieve the most lifelike result.
